Full moon sound baths. Sumi ink art. Improv with Pride.
Maura's Three for the Week in Charleston, 6/9/25 - 6/15/25
There was once a time in Charleston when the city took a collective exhale after Spoleto Festival USA and Piccolo Spoleto. These days, not so much. The town still teems with artful pursuits. So if you’ve still a cultural itch to scratch, you’ll find ways to do so through a host of live performances, art exhibitions and more. Enjoy!
Surround in sound with a with a Reiki master
Redux Contemporary Art Center, 1056 King St., Charleston Tues., June 10
The sonic spree that was Spoleto has left me craving more sound sensations, and this one at Redux has me all ears. Reiki master Christian McClellan is at Redux to guide you through a full moon sound bath, a meditative, relaxing and healing experience that “bathes” you in calming sound waves using crystal singing bowls and other instruments. The sound is ethereal, vibrating through the entire body. It been shown to lower blood pressure and heart rate to put participants in a deep state of relaxation—and can serve as a powerful mindfulness practice, too.
