How do you find ways to make the most of a Lowcountry July? How about yoga under the stars at Folly Beach? Or a brewery painting class? Join Awendaw Green’s Barn Jam, an original music showcase at Sewee Outpost. This week’s lineup spotlights Dog Named Squid; Madame Radar and Once Below Joy Check out this piece from SCETV Palmetto Scene. The concert is BYOB, with eats on offer from The Roost Bar and Grille as well as Holy City Popcorn, and welcomes non-aggressive dogs on a leash. Go for yoga under surfside stars
Folly Beach County Park, 1100 West Ashley Ave., Thurs., July 11, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Join Instructor Tashi on the beach as the sun sets and the stars rise. Charleston County Parks has brought back their Starlight Yoga series, which sells out fast. Yoga lovers all around are beckoned to Folly Beach County Park at the Island's west end for what promises to be a stellar exercise experience. Relax as you take in one of the premier views of the Charleston sky, where light and mind pollution alike melt away. Register online for one or many of the summer monthly classes.

Want a good think for a walk on the beach? Just out from Lake City’s ArtFields is Episode 9 of their ArtPod series, which discusses how art is at the intersection of just about everything. (This art writer heartily agrees). Hosted by Roberta Burns, the series was created by the celebrated arts organization that has been revitalizing a small town by leveraging the agency of art and community. Podcast guests range from staff members and artists to architects and horticulturists, all illustrating the proof of the power of art.
